Default This is a new one?

I have been cutting grass now for 9 years. This year I picked up a new customer with 6 dogs. Every time I went to the house to cut the grass they refuse to put the dogs up, so I just cut the front yard. Friday when I went out there for the fourth time the owner of the house was waiting for me. I pull he looks at me goes inside for a few minutes let me start working then comes back outside and said he need to talk to me, but guess what he is on his phone for a good five minutes talking to one of his buddies. He gets off the phone saying why I have not been cutting the back yard I say your dogs are out. Then he tells me it my job to put his dogs in his house. These dogs have no leash or collars on them. He tell me I should be able to hold 6 dogs and get a mower into the back yard. People find anyway now days not to pay you. Then I said next time I come out then I'm going to charge you 6 people to hold your dogs and said that not right. People are crazy then he then turn around and says I went around his house breaking things on purpose.

Lawn care business tips
This post made me feel very sad.

TIP: In my area, it is illegal to have more than 3 dogs per household.

Call the police, get even.

I really ahte say this, but I have dropped customers over less than this. Just stop showing up, wait for him to call and ask why. Tell him you can no longer spend your time to mess with his in ability to control his dogs, and that you will not come back. Then keep an eye on the place and tell anyone you see there what happened to you. He will figure it out when company after company stop showing up

Could you 'hold' the dogs by letting them go out front and roam the neighborhood while you mow. Then when you are done, call them back. The ones that come, want to stay, the ones that don't want to find a new home with less dogs

SIX dogs?

Dude, I would NOT want to be a pair of your shoes.

Aside from dropping them like a bag of poop, this is your only other option...

Default 6 dogs

No the dogs have no collars and will run away when the gates opens, but the home owners make sure that they do not want to put the dogs up when I come. Never have ran into this problem before. I'm not going back but it funny they are home won't put the dogs up and call me to try to get me to come back out there. I think they can't find anyone else to come out there because of the dogs.

I hate and love when clients go out of their way to cause problems, only for us to quit on them. Then they suddenly realize how valuable we are to them.

They can be so stupid.

-

In other news, I had one of my best clients drop me because the tax rate increased, NOT my price.

It goes to shows how loyal certain people can be. Once a person burns a bridge with me, I have a hard time accepting them back when they realize the other guy they hired turns out to be crap.

Was there anything talking could do to save this situation or no?

Probably, but it was too late. I would of had to offer her my price without tax. She already signed up with someone else.

The company she's with must be seriously cheap. Should be interesting, I still have her next door neighbor as a client and he's not ever going to switch. He's one of those clients who invited me for dinner / get togethers / and beer every now and then. I watched a movie with his family LOL.

yeah, the guilt would kill him
