The deck looks real flimsy on that exmark. I doubt you could find a replacement deck if something ever happen.
The hydros are integrated. The hydros cost $1100 each side and cant be serviced.
The bad boy has the same hydros but looks to be way better built.
If you really want a good deal you need to pay with cash. Thats the best bargaining chip you have.

What I did when purchasing my first new zero turn is saved up the cash for a new commercial. Like, lets say the price is $6700.00. and you want one in three years you take that $6700.00 divide it by 36 months you come out with 186.12. Save this amount monthly This enables you to pay cash and get better deals.
I know you are wondering what to do in the mean time. What I did was found a cheap one on Craigslist to use until I got my bank roll up. Once you get over purchasing your first one keep saving the same amount and you will not ever have to worry about saving in the future when you need equipment, you will have the funds. this will help you in the future if your business gets slow, it will allow you to have revenue on hand to support yourself.
like the mower you are talking about "The price is 3295 @ the dealer i see retail is 2999 or so they also have 48 month no intrest.

In 17 months you could pay cash for this equipment a more then likely get a better deal. Because you are paying cash.

Everyone seems to have trouble saving money. Any tips on how you were able to keep yourself focused on saving and not spending a little of it here or there along the way?

When I started I started with a push mower and a Walmart plugin weedeater. Had no idea what I was doing. Boy that was a long time ago. My drive was when my mower broke down and I had no cash to purchase a new one. I made my mind up at that point I wouldn’t be without cash to purchase a new one. I started saving that day, both for personal and commercial. The hardest is saving the first 10k once you reach that point it is easy and becomes habit. I always take a couple of days to think about a purchase before making it. It gives me time to evaluate if I really need it or just want it.

If I understand the original post, the dealer is charging more for the unit than the manufacturer advertises the full retail price? If that is so, the dealer is most likely hoping to catch people (homeowners) coming in without doing their research. The fact that you know he is charging more is a bargaining point. I would just look at the purchase as a business deal that you are determined to win. Tell the sales person the price you are willing to pay, and be willing to walk away if they are not willing or able to meet that price. There are many other manufacturers making non-commercial grade ZTR's who would love to have your business. Alternatively, I like one of the other posts about buying one used, and saving up for the new commercial mower you need. Once you have a piece of equipment in place and paid for, it is much easier to save for a new one. I think if you have to finance the equipment, especially if it's not your first or only mower, it may not be time to buy.
