How much more does he want for the new engine? have you looked around and priced out an engine ? I wouldnt make any offer untill I knew what doing the bare minimum to have it running would be ,but I also dont think an offer of $100.00 would be a loser for you ,you can part it for more than that .

I sent him an e-mail to see what he wants for the motor,
But I think I can get a nice reconditioned motor for cheap from a guy I know that rebuilds them.
I will let you know what I find out.

Yes the mower came with a 16 hp B/S motor

I am pretty sure princess auto had some of those vanguards cheap in the surplus area ,and bumping the unit from 16 to 27 hp doesnt seem too smart to me ,probably a good thing he already sold it .

Well I made him an offer of $100.00 for the non-working mower.
I looked around the net and they seem to be selling for around $350.00 working
so I think $100.00 for it is a good offer.

100 bucks would be a sweet deal even just for parts.
