Default Your Thoughts ON "Affiliate Marketing"

I'm considering selling my product with affiliates. Have any of you used affiliate marketing in the past? Several companies offer this service, I'm considering SAS, ShareASale.

I set the commission and the retail price. SAS has a $550.00 one time set up fee and they earn 20% of whatever commission I decide. example: commission I set at one dollar per sale, I get charged $1.20 per sale at my end. They have a $25.00 min. they must make in commissions a month, if not reached I pay the difference.

I'm thinking I will give my affiliates a $5.00 flat rate for each sale order they produce. That is 25% of a one pack sale. That would make a cost of $6.00 dollars at my end with SAS % added on each order made.

I'm thinking this would be a good way to advertise. They are based in the USA and they are one of the few that have a contact # that works when called. I tried it!

SAS handles paying the affiliates after a sale has been made etc... Sounds like a win - win to me. If you were an affiliate do you think my product would attract you to promote it with the $5.00 rate per order made?

$5.00 a pop can add up quick!

Lawn care business tips
I think that is a great idea. Affiliate marketers know how to get their sites infront of targeted audiences. If they don't make a sale they don't get paid so they work harder and longer than most on their sites. If you can get into some niche sites .... Like the ads on this forum... Hint Steve... then you hit specifically targeted audiences. A lot of money is made by and for affiliates every day. No advertising on your part.

One thing that I recommend is that you have a professional landing page and graphics done up. You want a page that converts well into sales or your affiliates will drop you quick.

Let me know if you want help finding somone.

If I understand the way it works, is that they use one of my banners on their site which sends them directly to my site from theirs. The "landing page" isn't that my home page on my own website? Or does the landing page stay on SAS and sales are conducted their and sent to me? I'm new at this and I'm not sure how it all will work yet.

Thanks for your help again!

How about it Steve? lol

Any idea what a professional would charge?

A landing page is a single sales page. You have seen them, the ones that scroll on for ever. If I were you, I would get a sales copy professional to do the landing page. You can use your site but you want it to sell sell sell. It HAS to convert people into buyers or you will not have any affiliates.

Believe me, these guys look at the landing page before they put a product on their sites. I know that I do. If you can convince them then it will convince a customer. Talk to the affiliate guy, he can explain a lot better than I can.

I don't know what they charge, I have never had the need for one.

Thanks, I'll look into it. Sounds like that would help with my own retail sales as well.

It's worth experimenting with. You never know what will hit and take off until you try it. Maybe the different lawn care businesses could have a logo of yours on their website as well, that links to your site.
