Lawn care business tips

I will tell you that I have found it very difficult to get commercial bid opportunities. Especially having a new and smaller company it has been very hard. The best thing I did was build a website and paid a buddy of mine to make it SEO coded or searchable or whatever the correct wording is. The moment he messed around with the SEO keywording in the site, I started getting emails left and right from commercial properties who were wanting bids. I got 4 emails last week... all commercial. I just landed the first two.

Thank you for the response. We have been in business since 2008 and so far we have been lucky acquiring commercial accounts but we need to get more one time jobs where we can actually make money rather then just surviving.

Well I def recommend doing the coding on your website. I can get you contact info for the guy who did mine. We saw dramatic increases the same week.

Also, do you guys offer residential fall cleanups? How about gutters and irrigation? I am learning irrigation now but last year before I got most of my customers I was going around and doing gutter cleanings and fall cleanups and made over $5,000/month with a ladder and two blowers. If you guys are bigger than just two guys you can split up and do that and should probably be able to bring in some good money.

We are a 3 crew business of 4 men each. We provide the following services: Irrigation, Lawn Maintenance, Landscape Design, Tree Servicves, Weed Control, Erossion Control, Fall Clean up. Gutter clean up is not a bad idea for more cash...

What are you currently doing to land commercial customers? Is it something you could scale up to reach out to more people. Having your website set up is one factor but I think to really land more clients, you are going to have to get out there and meet people to do it.

Are you a member of any local business organizations that put you into contact with other local business owners?
