Default Questions on using the Lawn Estimator for Android

Questions on using the Mow Price Estimator for Android

Quote:
1.) I work most of the time by myself. What do I do with the Foreman and helper if I do not have one? I work at 30.00 an hour.
I would set your pay to the foreman pay.

Quote:
Also with this what do I do about business % and owner %? How is the best way to set this up?
This part is designed to allow you to set up a certain percentage for each to put away for growth. This money could potentially be put away into a separate bank account to allow for future purchases or a rainy day fund.

If you don't want to use it, set it to a low number or zero.

Quote:
Also if I use more than one rider during these mowing's do I plug in replacement for both mowers?
I would suggest using replacement costs just for the one you are using for that job.

Quote:
I have customers where I use my 44" to get into the fenced areas, and then use my 60" for the outside areas to the lake? Putting both replacement cost I think would price me out of the bidding process.
I agree and would be unnecessary. Ultimately you only want to cover the costs of the equipment you are using at the time.

Thank You For The Answers. I Know It Might Sound Dumb But Just Want To Make Sure I Am Doing These Right. One Thing Is That You Cannot Leave Anything Blank So I Have To Put 29.oo In The Forman And Then 1.00 In The Helper.

I Also Have The Time Estamator On My Droid. On The Trim In Feet How Do You Plug In The Trees? Does This Factor In On The Effectiveness? Chain Link, Retaining Walls, Etc?

One More Question. Is There One For Shrub And Or Tree Trimming For The Droid? If So I Wanna Buy It Tonight! These Tools Are Awesome!!!!

I am glad you asked because this estimator forces you to think about each bid and the intricacies of the parts of the bid.

When you are trying to figure out how much time it's going to take you to line trim, you need to know how many linear feet you will be trimming. This is where a surveyor's wheel comes in handy.

With trees, if you know how many feet are around each tree, then you can multiply that by the total number of trees and add that to your total linear feet.

Effectiveness can be set by choosing the speed of your line trimming. Based on the job, some trimming may take more time than other jobs.

Not yet, but it's a great idea.

Thumbs up Use The Technology To Your Advantage

Steve Thanks So Much For Getting Back With Me So Fast! Folks If You Are Not Using These You Are Missing Out. I Know So Of You Do Not Feel You Need Them But I Think It Is Awesome. Example Is I Cut Two Lawns On My Block. One Is 40.00 And The Other Is 50.00. These Tools Give Me The Back Up If Ever Questioned About Price.

Last Night I Downloaded The Gopher Software For A Trial To See What It Can Do For Me. So Far It's Been So Nice To Let Technology Do The Work For Me!!!

What would you like to see in a tree trimming or a hedge trimming calculator?

I kept showing up to estimates with my laptop this spring. With the gopher software to do estimates. I had one lady say to me "you need that to tell you the price everyone else just looks at the lot and gives me a price" I said yes mam this makes it great for both of us because it factors in my expenses ie fuel, oil, workers, and equipment to give the price. The people who eye ball it might do it once and say that wasn't enough I need to increase the price next time. You won't find that with our company we give you a price and unless gas prices take a big rise then this will always be your price. Even if gas prices went up I said the increase would be minimal. She sighed and said ok thanks. She had three locations she wouldn't show me the others. She said I'm going to use the last guy. I said I hope he is insured and you get his price in a contract have a great day and if not here is my card. This software at the time would have saved all this bs.....great thinking making it an android app!
PS she called me 3 weeks later and said he told me I need to raise the prices starting next month to what I quoted her. She is now under contract with us!!!
