Welcome to our forum! I'd love to head some of your back story on how this product came about. What was the a ha moment where you said you could make something better and how did you find the process of going from idea to actual product?

I'll try to make a long story short! First of all I must say, I "Prayed to Invent Something" about two weeks before this idea hit me.

I was walking the grounds of an apartment complex to place a bid, when I noticed several sprinkler heads installed a tad high and some just in bad locations for my tire pattern. Started thinking,"I'm not sure if I want this account." I mean it was BAD!

Then came the "Ha Moment" Ever since then, I have been praying "Lord, please help me get through this venture you have given me."

The process of Patenting, Manufacturing, Packaging, Advertising, Etc,Etc... have all been an unreal challenge. Whenever I thought about giving up, "GOD" would open another door for me. It has truely been amazing watching him work! USPTO issued my Patent # TODAY! May 24, 2011,
US Patent No.7,946,507

Now I'm facing the challenge of getting it known to the world. There is only one person that can help me with that, Goes without saying, "GOD!".

It remains to be seen if this vision was given to me to bring my family financial security or not. If nothing else, it has humbled me and made me realize nothing is possible without HIS "HELP!"

Now from that moment you were walking around the apartment complex, how did you come up with that design? Was there multiple tests with a lot of trial and error or do you feel you hit on it the first design?

How do you feel your product now could have made that jobsite better?

I had the design right from the start. Took me a few weeks to find a suitable material with the right characteristics for my design to work.

If I had the Sprinkler Buddy back then, I know I could of installed them so my guys could see all the hidden sprinkler head dangers. It would have given me,"The Owner", peace of mind that I wouldn't have to keep putting money out of my own pocket in sprinkler head repairs constantly and the cost of down-time.

Some other marketing ideas you may want to consider is sending out press releases about yourself and your invention to your local newspaper as well as all the trade publications.

Then you might want to look to some give away some of your sprinkler buddies to members of the forum from different areas of the country.

Also what about getting lawn care business owners to help sell your product via counter top displays at their local lawn care stores.

Appreciate the tips, I have already done most of your suggestions. My product has already started getting known around the US. Word of mouth seems to be the best form of advertising I have found and also the cheapest.

Many that have purchased a pack to try have made a re-order once they have tried them. I'm confident that trend will continue. This has already started out to be my best year and it has just started.

Perfect timing, being that I just received my US Patent on May 24, 2011.
