Default Pricing suggestions

Needing a little help.. Pricing a lot with a mobile home small patio and small storage shed on it.. Flat. Maybe 10 minutes to push mow... about the same for the zero turn by the time i unload and load... 10 minutes on the weedeater.. Has the potential to maybe attract several more lots on the same street... Not real sure how to price this because it is so small.. 25'x70'.
Don't want to price myself out of a job.. But dont want to cut the next guy either.. Thanks

Good question. I personally have a $25 minimum, but in your case it will depend on your hourly rate.

I would take the time you think it will take to service the account and multiply by what your company needs to make per hour to stay in biz, cover overhead, your salary etc. Not to mention any travel time.

In other words if you hourly rate is $60 and you think it will take 25 minutes total, you might charge $25

Can you give us your viewpoint on why a lawn care business should have a minimum rate regardless of how small the property is.

Also, in such situations, do you take into account that you want to get the neighbors in the area and would that effect your bid price or should you bid each job on it's own?

I have a similar estimate tomorrow. RV park, very small. Haven't seen it yet though. I have a job near it so I can do it on the same day and not waste any fuel getting there. Not sure how I'm going to bid it either. Might talk to the property owner and see what they have in mind to pay and go from there.

You could set a minimum of 35.00 I personally have a minimum of 50.00 for bi-weekly customers and 35.00 for weekly customers. In my area you have to be flexible to provide weekly and bi-weekly services because the majority of my clients prefer bi-weekly. However, you must have some idea of what you want to make per hr. and charge accordingly. You can charge a 1.00 per minute and on the other hand if you want to get all the yards on that street or neighborhood you could give a discounted price for all the yards because they are all right there. You burn less gas and time for travel which will save on your expenses.
