Default Frustration regarding placement!

Well I've spent about 3 hours this morning working on keywords and it seems like it was for nothing. I've added "Austin" and "lawn care" every where in my site and when I search for it on google I go to page 11 and it still isn't up there. My CL and Backpage ads come up when I search "organic lawn care Austin", but my darn site is nowhere to be found. Blah! Lost in this process and unfortunately, can't afford to pay for help. LOL

Ok I feel better now. Just needed to get that frustration off my chest.

When did you submit your site to the search engines?

It can take weeks sometimes before google will revisit a site. Just because you change a few things dont think it will be a instant change in googles databases.

You can resubmit your sitemap through the "Webmaster Tools" section of your Google Webmaster account.

This process alerts Google that your pages have changed and they will normally visit your site within days after you resubmit your sitemap.

Here are some of the major search engine submission tools

http://www.google.com/addurl/?continue=/addurl

http://www.bing.com/webmaster/SubmitSitePage.aspx

http://search.yahoo.com/info/submit.html

I checked your sitemap and it is built correctly. However you can improve on it. Check out this link...

http://www.sitemaps.org/protocol.php

What cities, towns, counties do you want to reach? Even include zip codes. You need to re-right your description and keywords and make better use of your content.

As noted it can takes weeks for the spiders to crawl your site again, you can resubmit but don't do this too often or it can be picked up as spamming which can get you blacklisted which is a real mess to fix up.

There is lots of free code available you can embed in your home page that will report to you only, the last time which spider was there. If you have a google account, webmaster will also tell you.

Patience grass hopper....

Like the others said, it takes time. Yahoo and Bing I have seen up to 8 weeks behind Google.

One thing that I see is that you do not talk about "Organic Lawn Care" on your home page at all with those exact words.
