Lawn care business tips
Nice job on your website! Have you gone to the different search engines yet and submitted the site?

You should be able to do a search on each search engine site for a how to on submitting to them.

There are also sites out there like this site that can help

http://www.submitexpress.com/submit.html

or

http://www.addme.com/submission/free...sion-start.php

You should also submit your site to the google business map section.

Look up landscapers in your area and it should pull up a map. You will then see a link to see all the listings and then when you click on that it should take you to a page where you can submit your business to appear on that map as well.

one thing I have found helpful for promoting my lawn care site up the google ranking, is registering with business directory sites like merchant circle (like facebook for businesses) and topix.com, yahoo places and google maps.

merchant circle got my site to page one a day after I signed up which has been nice. It has my Business name, phone number and website url on page one for the search returns. it is merchant circle web address but it is fine for now while I develop the wild links that will get my main site on page one independently.

my local search example

using topix and merchant circle I have managed to get third and fifth rank on page one for non map returns, and merchant circle also has another of my listings on page 2

this is great for now. it gets me to the front of the line while I work on my main site's rank.

I have been linking to it regularly and have put the site url in the signature on every forum I am a part of.

two weeks ago, I started on page 11, a week later I was on pg 5, this morning, halfway up page three.

TO: THEGOAT

I know the owner/operator of "Greener and Cleaner," he does a decent job. When i started he used to give me all kinds of crap because i didnt cut straight. He would be a good guy to keep in contact with. He has expanded a lot since i met him too.

Looks good!

Two suggestions, list your site in every local online business directory you can find, just google "free business directory (city)(state)" also I think some of your images are before and after, make two colums left side before, right side after.

I viewed the source (right click then select view source) on your web page and saw a very limited description along with a limited set of keywords. You should work on those more. See this thread for more on that.

http://lawnchat.com/?p=1502

In your description, you should always mention:
  1. Your company name
  2. the towns you service
  3. the services you offer

That way when they are searching they ask a service in so and so town if its in your keywords or and description, you have a better chance of poping up. I put the exact same in both meta tags

Here is what your meta tags look like:

< meta name="description" content="M&A Lawn Care" />
< meta name="keywords" content="www.M&ALawnCare.com,lawn care,midlothian lawn care,lawn care companies in midlothian virginia" />

So in addition to what is already there you should add the services to both.

For example:

< meta name="description" content="M&A Lawn Care"lawn mowing, hedge trimming, flower planting, edging, lawn maintenance, spring cleanups, fall cleanups, weed whacking, landscape, landscaping />
< meta name="keywords" content="www.M&ALawnCare.com,lawn care, midlothian lawn care, lawn care companies in midlothian virginia""lawn mowing, hedge trimming, flower planting, edging, lawn maintenance, spring cleanups, fall cleanups, weed whacking, landscape, landscaping />

Does weebly allow you to add to the description and the keywords?

Keep in mind when you use quotations in the phrases when someone searches terms everything between the " " must be put in the search or it will not pull up results in the search. I prefer to use commas, that way even parts are able to be pulled up when someone searches a term. The best time to use quotations " " is if your doing pay per click campaigns. Which I do not recommend at all. In your description, if someone searches for - lawn care midlothian virginia, I doubt it would come up as a result becuase missing is a word between the " ". I hope this hasn't been too confusing.
