The plain text ones that I have posted under farm & garden haven't gotten a lot of response. The HTML ones under farm & garden have made me busy. I also have posted 2 ads under labor section. These have not been as good. I have gotten a few calls but I think that the bots on craigslist have deleted most of them under the labor.

That means that the CL bots that peruse CL didn't like something about the ad and so they automatically removed it. I believe that while pics and links are okay in the Services section of CL, something about a clickable link in a picture is not kosher with CL.

There's also the remote possibility that someone doesn't like us on CL and so they spam flagged the ad until it was removed. But they don't flag the text ad so I don't think that's the case.

Very interesting! I haven't experimented much with them however I do wonder if a single spam flag submission by a competitor can immediately pull an ad off the site. Is this possible? The reason I ask is because I have never heard of cl bots, but the spam flagging seems so easy for a competitor to do.

I may have misused the term "bot", but this is an article on how to write a CL ad and keep it there. It briefly talks about ghosting.

It would be somewhat hard for a single competitor to wipe-out your ad, as CL keeps track of your ip address when you flag. You can use a proxy online, but I'm not sure if that even works, considering the free proxies are not very good. You can read more about that here:
