Midstate landscape business purchased - Bonaire-based Bass Custom Landscapes, a $4 million a year maintenance and installation landscaping business, has been acquired by a facilities maintenance company in Charleston, S.C. FMI Services Group has purchased Bass for an undisclosed sum, according to a news release. An effort to reach Bass Custom Landscapes late Thursday was unsuccessful. "The acquisition of Bass not only gives us a leading position in the central Georgia market, it facilitates FMI's expansion throughout the rest of the state," FMI President Don Pottieger Jr. said in the release. The management team at Bass will remain intact, he said. "The Bass group of professionals clearly has the expertise to take FMI to the next level of service excellence," Pottieger said in the release. Founded in 1987 by Tony Bass, Bass Custom Landscapes provides maintenance, installation, irrigation, fertilization and grading to high-end homes and businesses in Middle Georgia, according to the release. It employs more than 70 full-time technicians and has more than 400 clients.

Did he sell the SLT business or did he keep that side of the business? I really want one of those trucks down the road. I talked to a guy that bought a used truck and had them convert it, he had around 45,000 in it total. Thats less then a new dually crew cab! I kind of like the ones they have that have a collection bin infront of the box part of the truck so you can load leaves/grass clippings into it and it dumps to the side. That would be the ultimate truck for what I'm doing.

I think he kept his SLT business and only sold his landscape business.
