Default New Web Site just launched

Hey Steve.

I haven't posted here in a while, been busy trying to build up my business. I had posted a few stories that I experienced in my business that you used for your pod cast. I was glad to see that you found them interesting and hopefully they helped others out.

Did not know where to put this so I'll put it here. I just launched my business web site last night and thought if it is o.k. i'd post a link here. I have a blog section that pulls stories and educatonal material from other sites and was wondering if in the future would it be o.k. to pull from this site if I were to find something that I wanted to share on my site?

Any way here is the link: http://northeasternmaintenance.com

Any feedback (good or bad) would be appreicated.

Thank You
Joe

Lawn care business tips
Hi Joe,

Your website looks great! What kinds of things have you been doing this year to build everything up further?

I have a blog rss feed you can plug into here.

Hey Steve,

Thanks for the rss, I will discuss with my web designer and see if we can use it. As far as building the business i have been using Facebook and also have joined an BNI (Business Networking International) chapter in the area. And of course the launch of our web site. I am finding that word of mouth seems to work the best. I have landed a couple of commercial accounts for summer maintenance as well as several residential accounts. My goal is to build the business slowly. Do not want to take on too much work so I would have to rush through the properties. I would rather take my time for now and do quality work. Do not leave a job site until I am satisified that everything looks professionally done.

I have been working on landing a commercial account that I did snow management for this past winter. i am trying to get the summer maintenance from them. They have 12 appartment complexes, not very big ones but enough for a day or two of lawn care along with some up sells. Trimming and mulching. I have also found that you can make some decent profit in planter bed clean up and re-mulching. I try to promote this as much as possible.

I have already landed all but one of the snow management accounts that I had last season for the up comming winter and am working on one of the corporate centers that I am doing summer maintenance for. It's starting to look like a go.

I have a box full of flyers that i made up, rolled up and ready to go but I have decided not to walk the neighborhoods and pass them out yet. I seem to be picking up accounts without doing this. As I said I want to build slow and not sacrifice quality just for the sake of building the business.

Also spent a boat load of money on new equipmet this spring. New 16' open trailer, new backpack bower, another weed eater, and a 48" Wildcat Scag. My feeling is to go big or go home if you know what i mean.

Any way enough babbling, good luck to everyone in the business. I hope we can all continue to grow and weed out (no pun intended) the fly by night operators in this downed economy.

That sounds great! Were you able to get signs on your trailer? Do you have them on your truck now too?

I've had the company name and number, along with other info on the truck for some time now. Have not had a chance to do anything with the trailer yet. Don't even had it set up the way I want it. I'm am going to purchase trimmer racks later this year and have a friend of mine weld me up a cage to mounton the front of the trailer. Right now I load most of the tools (blower, trimmer, rakes. etc...) in the back of the dump truck. It's getting to be a pain in the a** but I don't have time to set it up.

I plan also to mount a piece of plexi glass to the gate so I can put the logo and other info on in the near future.

I'll post pictures when I finish the trailer. Hopefully it will happen before the end of the summer. lol.. I was going to use our company logo which is on the main page of our web site. It's the snow plow with the leaf added. I think this logo displays what we do and i feel it will looke great on the trucks and trailer.

The site looks great, Do you only have the truck to move snow? I am looking at buying some larger equipment to move snow. not sure what to do there.

Hello B-2 Lawncare.

I only own the 1 ton with a 9' HD plow and a three yard salt spreader. If I land large accounts I then lease the equipment I need. I don't know what you are thinking of buying but I would consider what type of accounts you have before I were to go out and spend a ton of money on equipment. If your new to snow management then I would move slow the first year. It takes more than just going out and pushing snow around to keep your clients happy.
