Default yeah its snowing in utah!!! NO BIG DEAL!

Hi everyone… names jake, working out of Logan, Utah and I too am addicted to grass! Ha honestly though it is a blessing to be able to find a web sight like this while in the starting stages of creating my business. I guess for the intro. I’m 26, currently attending Utah State University majoring in aviation flight a.k.a pilot school (and don’t even bother asking of that expense) with a minor in management and financial planning. I came out to USU sometime ago as a recruit for the USU ice hockey team here and just finished up 4 seasons. This brings me to the lawn care. Since my teenage years I have always been the kid getting out and mowing for some money. Now being a little more mature and I should probably capitalize LITTLE, I figured why take it to the next level and go balls to the walls! Luckily for me the snow man just isn’t quite ready to leave Logan yet as we have gotten snow on and off for the past couple weeks allowing me a few more days to finalize my ideas, goals, plans, and get the business plan all topped off. It worked out perfect considering I had a management and business structure class this semester where our final paper was creating a business and implementing the 4 key concepts of management. If any of you would like to read it I am more than willing to post it in hopes that I can help you as Steve is helping me! It includes my business description, mission statement, goals, organizational structure, and much more. O and I guess I should tell you the name of our company, we are “These Guys” Quality Lawn Care with a slogan somewhere(unofficial) in the line of: LAWN CARE… HELPING “THESE GUYS” PAY FOR DATES SINCE HIGH SCHOOL… I am kind of stuck in a rut as to know how to bid correctly and for the most part just anything dealing with finances. Its tough to throw a projection out in a business with so many job opportunities. My little brother will be my so called wing man and hopefully but the time I graduate and fight for my pilot slot in the air force our lawn care business will be structured and stable enough for him to take it to new levels. We both have been in the landscaping side of business for the past couple years and so we are proficient in the skills needed… I THINK! Anyways ill stop with the blabbing… as you can see I’m just excited to finally step out of someone else wing and do things my way. O how I just cant wait to start knocking on doors!!! I guess everyone starts somewhere eh! Good luck to the all of you. sorry... i just realized i wrote a novel! o and ps... thanks steve, maybe one day ill get big enough to fly myself over and thank you for this help in person! let me know if i need to post my business plan, or what i have of it.

Default need help with finance part

Lawn care business tips
hey steve... im really struggling with finding how to make good financial predictions of income, expenses, and especially maintenance cost, repair and so forth. i have most of the basic equipment needed for the business to be running but i have a few people interested in investing and so if i want to turn my out of date equipment to more up to date zero turn equipment then ill have to somehow show them all the thoughts and numbers i have circling around my head. if you have an example or just some suggestions that i can get a foundation built on i would much in debt. thanks for your help dose one of your books or the lawn care software cover any of this? o while im on finances... from what i hear you saying is that we a high hourly rate? i dont want to be the low guy in utah but at the same time i dont want to be the high guy. have you heard of any average labor cost in utah... sorry for the dump of questions.

I'd like to hear more about this and I am sure others would as well.

Have you checked around your area a bit to find out what the average cost is per cut?

From there you can multiply it by the number of cuts you are going to be performing per day.

Does this help?
