hey everybody, i was just needing alittle help.... where can i go or who do i need to talk to to find local jobs in my county that i can bid on? is it at the court house, newspaper or a certain web site??

hey steve, i was wondering about both county government work, and commercial jobs, like hotels, gas stations etc...
maybe public houseing too, not sure if that falls under county government work..

Well I would think the government work and the commercial work would be different for many reasons. One being the way you get the jobs.

With the commercial jobs, you need to talk to someone at the facility and ask them who would you contact to submit a bid for lawn care. Someone somewhere is going to know and you need to find that person.

They may say the manager handles it. They may see the landlord handles it. Once you find the who, you can go after them to make the sale.

I would probably try and get comfortable first in larger commercial jobs before I looked into government bids.

But it doesn't hurt to investigate. Go to your local town hall and see if your town puts out to bid the school or park property maintenance. Go to your local county and ask them. I am sure there are bids put out but you might be able to get your name on a list as well to be notified.

Many cities and counties post information or may have a link on their web site that shows any invitation to bid that is in progress or coming up in the near future.

If nothing is on the web site contact someone from the procurement office on how to obtain bidding documents.

Many goverment jobs will want a history of at least three years in the business.

Also check your State's web site you can sometimes come across some big jobs like colleges, parks, rest stops, etc...
