I just found this website this is cool. I have been mowing peoples lawns for a long time I started mowing lawns when I was 10 years old for extra money. I mow lawns now because I love doing it. I have a walker mower with the ghs grass system and a toro push mower. I also drive a ready mix truck for a living. I have worked for a landscaping company until they closed the door in 2001 that is when I started doing it on my own. I don't have 12 lawns that I mow because poeple around here outbid me because they are kids. Like I said before this site is very good.

Lawn care business tips
Lets say you do live in Atlanta and want to rank for "tree service atlanta."

The guy that owns that site, due to poor optimization (like HOME as a meta title and little to no text) might be on page 6 and willing to sell it to you cheap. "Sure dude, whatever, I'll take fifty bucks for it."

Then, smart entrepreneur that you are, you optimize it correctly and 30 days later, given the age of domain factor, you are number one with a bullet.

It ain't a fairy tale, I've seen it happen in way tougher markets than "lawn care."
Try it. Its worth the 30-45 minutes of looking.

I have tried If you sign a contract for a year you get free dethach. Mowing the lawn and get trimming free. The other person that mows lawns in town mows lawns for $5.00 to $7.00 per time. The kids mowing a business across the street from me is 150 ft by 150 ft and they mow it for $25.00. I live in northwest iowa. Do you have any ideas.

Well you can't compete on price like that with them. You need to offer better quality and possibly a greater amount of services the home owner could use where you could charge more.

Sorry Shawn, I'm in the middle of transferring 250+ websites from a host that doesn't want to lose my $5k + biz to another server company. Nightmarish.

My problems aside, my site is closed for new members at the time being but will re-open soon. Contrary to the opinions of a lot of guys here, my members think I do a good job of getting them ranked.

Lawn care marketing has some good info for free on ranking your website and getting visitors while I deal with server headaches.

Although, its probably down for the next 24 hours as well.

So, since I can't send you to my sites, listen to this cuz this is "more lawn customers gold."

Buy not only your "city lawn care service.com" domain, but also whatever else you do (sprinkler repair, landscape lighting, landscaping, etc.)

It will cost you (with privatization and always buy 2 years at a time to skip that Google spam filter) less than $25 on GoaDddy.com per domain. Or you can always just get a free Word Press site not hosted on your server.

If you are in a big city, choose the small suburbs/satellite cities around the big city. In Orlando you would get (free or WP hosted):

WinterParkLandscaping WinterParkLandscapeLighting LongwoodLandscaping LongwoodSprinklerRepair WinterSpringsBrickPaving MetroWestLawnService ETC.

Put one unique article on each site keyworded to the site. Like "Winter Park - 5 Tips to a Better Brick Paver Driveway" or whatever.. You can buy a great article for $6 at
Articlez.com

Join/use SocialMarker.com and bookmark the site. Then take the EXACT same article and signup/post it to GoArticles.com, ArticleBase.com + Scribd.com Don't worry about duplicate content, that only matters if you dupe content on your main site.

THEN, take that same article and make a PowerPoint out of it. Submit the PPT to SlideShare.com If you don't have MicroSoft Office, get a free similar version at OpenOffice.org

Then buy screen capture software for $15 at Jing.com and using a $20 cheapo USB microphone read along with your PPT and submit it to the main podcast sites and the main video sites.

Using SocialMarker.com, bookmark all those links, i.e. articles, WP sites, videos, etc. EVERYTHING NEEDS TO BE BOOKMARKED (MrWong is a must)

THEN, take the RSS feeds of your bookmarks and submit them to FeedAgg.com + Feedage.com.

Ping ALL your bookmarks, articles, WP's at Pingler.com

Chances are, in 3-4 weeks you will either BE on page one or OWN page one, depending on how good the competition is.

Put your keyword like "Ballwood TX landscaping" in QUOTES into Google. Then look at the number of returned sites (on the left). If it is under 50k you have a real good shot of the first pager very quickly (two weeks.)

If it is under 10k you will kill it.

There ya go. Follow these steps and you will rank. Unless of course you are competing with Green Paws in Dallas, at which point you are doomed

I know it sounds like a lot of work (4-5 hours), but it beats the hell out of driving around throwing plastic baggies into peoples driveways with rocks + flyers inside of them.

You also look like less of an idiot as well.

I did a search for that and couldn't find anything on it. Maybe it has another name?
