Default Getting Business's Lawn Contracts

What is the best way to get business's lawn contracts?

We mostly mow residential lawns but we are looking to expand to business lawns this year as well.

Should we just go business to business and ask to bid on their lawn or how should we start?

There is your answer. Most businesses do not tender out quotes. I have had great success calling up businesses and setting up a meeting with them to walk the property. If you show interest they'll generally accept a quote from you. Even if you don't get the job this year, they'll remember you from the previous year and you'll already have a foot in the door.

So who should I ask to speak with when calling the businesses or is it better to just drive around to different businesses and ask to speak with somebody?

What kind of businesses are easiest to be able to give a quote and potentially get their lawn contract? (banks, restaurants, local businesses, etc?..

I dont know how it is else where but most stores dont maintain their lots the property management or investor group does. We call the space available numbers and talk to maintenance division.

Same as here, what I did was look online for Property Management Companies in our city, I looked at the registry of Joint Stocks to see who the owner was and then called the owner to discuss our services. We picked up a few, very few but I follwed it up with a letter and our Lawn Care Post card, I think this is a process and takes some time, like anything once you have your foot in the door, business will simply follow.

Where online could i find the numbers for the property management companies and registry of join stocks?

Has anybody tried just calling the numbers for the businesses straight from yellowpages and asking to speak to the owner?

That would be one way of doing it.

Or drive around and look for the retail space signs and call the management company contact.
