Default New Helper, New attachment

Finished pictures will be tomrrow...

Sometimes bylaws are a PITA what they changed, in HRM the new one is precast culvert ends, the inquiries over the past few days have been over the top. Man are these things heavy 1,950. Pounds each, they are not positioned properly on the trailer, should have been over the wheels more but I had drain tile on for another site.

This is my new helper, clients son who we do a lot of work for, she owns the largest demolition company in Halifax and we have become close friends, the culvert ends were for her place, they are installed but it included a drain and the slinger was three hours late so the next pics are our new Hydraulic Auger.
This unit based on my research is the Audi of augers, we do a tremendous amount of post holes and the tractor attachments are a joke for our soils, this puppy will do the job and do it well, we have over 200 holes to do, frost will have no bearing on the power I have with this.

Sorry the pics are dark, my helper and I didn’t finish until very late and it was 9:00 before we could get to Deere to get the setup, then we went for wings and a beer....Tuesday night is wing night at our favourite place.

Lawn care business tips
I bet that auger attachment is going to be awesome! Your new helper looks like he is having a blast with you there.

I'd love to see how those culvert ends are used. When are they needed? Is this for drainage that goes across a driveway entrance?

Andy, Your truck looks great! Is that a Ford Ranger/ automatic? 4 wheel drive? Do you have electric trailer breaks? Can you haul the smaller excavators? How does it work out for you?
I have a v-6 2 wheel Ranger that has plenty of pulling power for trailer & load. That is all i have ever owned and they take a bunch of what some would call abuse.
With the proper maintenance I have yet to burn a trans.

This is the truck I use, we have three;

This is a Ford Ranger, 5 speed standard with the trailer package, it has the Tambor weight system, weight and sway control bars, it can pull an easy 6,000 pounds and I am not kidding, Ford says its not possible but I have stopped with the 17D and proved it.

I will not pull a trailer that does not have brakes.

It works excellent 9 out of 10, it likes the fuel but I charge for float(transportation) so it's a wash.

It has their biggest V6, I forget the actual size and here in Canada it's metric anyhow.

This one is four wheel drive with 10 ply sidewall tires, you can be in the business I am with anything less than 6 ply, the LT rated tired will get you into a heap of issues with sway.

I would not do this very often, I have pulled the 27D excavator, loaded with the weight of the trailer we are talking close to 9,000 pounds, it struggled but it was a short run, I have bigger trucks but this was a rush job so I thought I would try it and honestly once rolling it was no different than anything I pull.

The issue with the ranger is not power, they have a very poor leaf springs, I take all my trucks to a speciality shop and they beef up the leaf's, other than than you are good to go
