Smile just starting

I would like to say hello to everyone, I am going to start a lawn care business, for a long time now i have been thinking of something to do with my spare time witch i have a lot of now as i am semi retired, i spend a lot of time doing yard work here at home, we have a 2 acre lot so it takes a good amount of work that i enjoy. So i figure why not get paid to do this type of work, i have found this forum to be a wealth of information.

Talking

Steve

I would like to pick up a few residential customers so as to get the word of mouth going, i am going to start talking to people that i know to see if i can get some referals, my daughter lives in a high dollar area and i know that her neighbors are always looking for someone to do their lawns, for some reason they cant find reliable lawn care co. Hoping her a her husband can spread the word, also i an going to put adds in some of the subdivisions newsletters, signs on the side of the truck and trailor, and of course mail outs, i live near high income area's and a lot of these people work a lot 10 -12 hr a day in a office a lot of them just do not have the time to do their lawns ????? also i am going to contact realestate Co, Property mg co. also local business that have large lawns, apartment bldg owners, I would like to also start bidding larger jobs that come up for bid in the local papers. Well that is my marketing plan all i have to do is put it in action, that is the hard part. I am also going to get your start up package, that sounds like it will answer a lot of my questions on bidding and pricing.

Thanks

Jim

Default hello newbie here

Hello my name is jeff. I am from pa, i just got a 1997 17 horse kawasaki 52" howard price hydro with less than 700 hours $550.00 came with a sulky. I have a landscape cart my mower just fits on. I am fixing the mower a few minor things like removing spindle bearings regreasing them sharpening blades and making my own front deck spacers. This mower was never used commercially and they do not make them anymore and hard to get parts for. I mowed neighbors yard to try it out very rough terrain deck was set at 2' and the floating deck never scalped once grass was at least 5' and alot of leaves. The blades were very dull but still cut fairly good. I am curretly laid off do landscaping for a friend and want to get out on my own. The only thing i do not know what to do it snowed here 2 weeks ago it all gone now. I do not have a plow or a snow blower and do not want to shovel at age 41. I have some things for sale to buy a snowblower but what kind should i buy. I have a gravel drive i read that you have to use a 2 stage snowblower for gravel drive. Was thinking of a arien please need help with snowblower. One of my favorite hobby is 6 wheelers and i am member of 6x6 world.com here is a pic of my 6 wheeler it is restored now its the blue one i have 3 more to finish restoring http://www.6x6world.com/gallery/show...photo/2958tell tell me what you think later http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A78dklzX01c

Wow that is cool! I couldnt see any of the pictures because it said you had to be a member to view them.

How did you get interested in 6x6 wheelers like that? How long did it take to restore?

What do you mostly use it for? Hunting or off-roading?
