Just starting...well sort of....

Well my name is Doug and I am currently in Anchorage AK. I started a small pest control/lawn maintenance business in Indiana a few years ago but got married and had to move up here. I was in the Air National Guard for 6 years and my job, believe it or not was Pest Cotrol. I was DOD certified in applying herbicides and pesticides. I really enjoy the lawn maintenance side of it and hope to start my own business again, this time focusing on mowing, trimming and edging then possibly into fertilizing and weed control. I am still fairly new to the business side of things and could use some tips. The plan is to move to Florida, the wife is Active Duty Air Force, and start up the business. I have a few years before this can happen so I thought I would start reseaching now. Thanks for your time and can't wait to learn some things.

OMG that is amazing!

Are you enjoying your time up there? Do you hunt or fish? It seems like an outdoorsmens paradise!

Well yes and no. We got here last July and it rained all summer then by October there was snow on the ground and stayed until April. So far this Spring has been awesome. No rain and in the 60's. I am an avid deer hunter so decided to hunt moose and black bear. I also love to fish for salmon and have done some great hiking. I work on Base as the grounds inspector so I am always outdoors M-F and all weekend long.
