Default Website and video ideas

I found this video online and it shows a lawn care business owner's website. I wanted to point out a few things. Check out how he has his service area located at the top of his page and along the right side. That should help out quite a bit to improve his search engine results when people look for lawn care and his area in a search engine.

Default Toms Mowing Video

Lawn care business tips
Yeah, it helped him some. His videos are at the bottom for "seattle lawn care", however he did not take advantage of the "link juice" avaiable on YouTube. I checked it out and he did not code his post correctly.

It was posted almost a year ago. After almost a year it should be above the fold by now (or his website should) if he had done it right.

I also believe that you've got to "sell the click". Think TV ad.

I'm no TV producer, but I think my screen capture PPT videos sell a little stronger. What do you think?

What do you feel he did wrong? What could have he done to take better advantage of the 'link juice?'

What would you suggest he should have done differently with this?

His video screen image:

And yours.

From your perspective what makes your video freeze frame sell a little stronger?

Default Better Video Sales

I think Toms video is too much " I mow lawns and this is how you can pay me."

Too much steak, not enough sizzle. The "running dog" has nothing to do what he is selling. It distracts from the message. Whats the message?

Why would someone want you to cut their lawn for them? They probably think they could do it themselves. The pay off for the customer is more time in their lives to spend with family, or go golfing.

Plus, you can do the other stuff as well like sprinkler repair, tree trimming, etc.

A video on how to navigate your website so that you can pay the bill is not is not selling the benefits of what XYZ Lawn Inc can do for the viewer.

As to the coding, I show exactly how to code a video for maximum link juice and click through rate in the "Dothan Lawn Care Caper" report, which will be free to everyone in just a couple more days.

Those are very good points. The video didn't seem like a sales video at all. It seemed like a video explaining how to use his site.

Great book. I hope others enjoy reading it.

It's very easy to install a login/password script that takes existing customers to a tutorial screencast video page about how to pay their bill etc.

That is not the purpose of online video for a small business.

There are only TWO reasons to put your business on Youtube, Revver, etc.

Sales and link juice, or Link juice and sales. Everything else is a waste of time and bandwidth.

I know I've said it before, but the "Dothan lawn Care Caper" is coming out in 48 hours. Why is this important? Here's why; "if you don't your competition will."

That's why.

Watch the bar fight here.

How much of it though say in this case, is just an experimentation with this new concept of using video on a website. It seems many times it's like having a new tool and not knowing what to do with it.

What's fascinating is that here we are discussing his video and he is getting attention from it. Which makes you wonder if it goes back to the old saying "there is no such thing as bad publicity."
