making flower bed from scratch

I have a lady that wants me to improve her existing flower bed. The yard is sloped, so i didnt know what all does good with a sloped yard, or it doesnt matter if the yard is sloped or flat on planting anything that stands out. I was thinking of making the flower bed as of something below or a little different, with some annuals, or plants, or some more bushes. She has boxwoods in front of the house- those will stay Indian Haxthornes in front of the porch- those will stay What you guys think would look good for a flower bed shape and plants. I want it to have that WOW effect. Please let me know as soon as possibale. I plan on taking all the grass out where ever the flower bed goes, and making the edge so you can see the seperation from the grass to what ever she wants installed in there such as pinestraw, mulch, etc What do u think as a price also, i plan on doubling cost on what ever i buy. I told her a ballpark figure of $400-$500 depending on what she wants in there

I'd say to mirror the boxwoods in front of the house, maybe some boxwoods along the path, leaving some space between the bushes and the grass to put annuals in. Maybe just trim the whole thing in boxwoods, it would look nice and formal with the brick house. I'd also think about putting in a small tree or two maybe? ...mix up the height a bit. Other than that, I'm not a landscape designer, so I don't know much in the way of plants.

The popular types of plants will vary from me to you as I'm in Florida, But I would install the boxwoods & continue them down both sides to the sidewalk, leave 2 spaces on each side about 1/3 of the way up & 2/3 of the way up. In the spaces install a taller more colorful tree or a plant that will weather your winters, give it some color! That's what brings that wow response, a well thought out color contrast. Make sure it won't clash with the red brick.
The reason I wouldn't plant trees down by the sidewalk is because it creates a blind spot as you walk out onto the sidewalk, the home owner could be hit by a kid passing on a bike or worse.... It could be a place for someone to hide & wait for them to come out without being seen.
Just my opinion.

I have a flower bed(2 big flower beds)(the pic above)1 flower bed on each side of the sidewalk. I am trying to get, i have been pricing around on plants and trees and such. I am not going down the sidewalk like i thought i would, so just in front of the house.

I was going to ask would you think this price would be reasonable for the homeowner to say yes, and start it.

I am buying all material......

What i have thouight of so far is:

pink crape myrtles(2)
astak grass(15)
japanese Yew(2)
pinestraw(25 bales)
yellow lantans(20)
purple pixies(8)
knock-out roses(6)

cost of material is around $775

doubling cost would be $1550

my profit would be $775 for making flower bed from scratch,and planting all material.

or should i figure price another way....
