What's your take on the Pivotrim trimmer head? Have you seen it or used it? They're on the cutting edge - Dave and Mike Watts will find out whether other people agree this summer when their Pivotrim trimmer head will be on store shelves for its first lawn-care season. They've already shipped more than 40,000 in time for spring. "This thing works so much better than anything else that's out there," said Mike Watts, the son and president in the Better Heads operation. They haven't yet gotten a verdict in the court of public opinion, but they have won a big victory — they convinced the lawn and garden buyers at the world's largest retailer, Wal-Mart, that the Pivotrim is worth selling in its stores.

Lawn care business tips

I've seen and used a variation of that, one that used a pair of strings. Didn't seem to last any longer than usual. Next time I go to Wally World I'll see if they have them and try it out if the price is right.

This father and son team had found this product being sold at a flea market by the inventor. If you were ever at a flea market and found a product you thought had potential would you ever want to license it and try to make a go of selling it?

If it had already been packaged like the picture, I'm pretty sure you would run afoul of a copy right issue. Getting it patented would be nearly impossible unless you bought them off for lots of $$$.
