Lawn care business tips

The company kinda got droped into my lap by a buddie of mine he went to be a cop and left me his failing lawn business so i changed the name. I have a nother company fixing air comperssors and generators called the compressor professor so i decided to stick with the same concept. we just got a new 18 ft inclosed trailer and need to sticker it up we are looking for any ideas that would help us gain more customers we have tried flyering and nothing put adds in the yellow pages we have 30 customers and would like to have a lot more. right now i work a full time job still over night at the local cable company and want to build the company big enefough to quit and just mow lawns .

we are on a small budget with a lot of debt trying to fight against a *lot of other established companies here in florida what can we do to stick out and win a lot of bids we loose a lot of jobs to people underbiding also and we run in to a lot of customers that ask for a proposal for one thing then just go with another company because they under bid with diffrent products for example we bid on a collage for 81 yards of mulch they stated they wanted red mulch so we bid it according to there request we go by a week latter and there is a company out there puting down free mulch from the dump never the less brown mulch any one else run into stuff like this ?:blush:

I bet Tony from AMW- Graphics will come up with some good ideas too but here is a thought.
