Building Schedules and routes

hey there everyone, i am to the point where i have to start orgainizing routes for my customers. whats everyones opinion on how the best way to do it is. i have been playing with the idea of by suburb or by city. any thoughts?

Another member on here suggested microsoft streets & trips to me a while ago, I went to staples & picked it up (about $50). I was worth it I guess. It's kinda like taking mapquest & adding pushpins in a huge map for each of your stops to build your route, then click optimize & it finds the most efficient line of travel bettween all of them. I had about 50 stops at the time I used it & since then I've just added the new ones in where they belong. but it did help to get me on the right track. I loaded the route into my gopher software & broke it into a 4 day schedule mon-thurs to get all my mowing done leaving friday for trimming,pruning, landscaping, or catching up if I get rained out or have a breakdown during the week. Hope that helps!

You can do that with google maps also.

The great thing about the software is that it will, as Chuck said, "optimize" the route to find the best possible order to make the stops in, in addition to finding the quickest way from point to point.

Hey guys,

I sugest you organize by machine. If you have 10 jobs with the z then do those togeather then do the others another day. What do you think. Anyone?
