Paypal's not that bad either, I've used it for years when selling and buying on Ebay.

I have over 200 positive ebay feedback and used paypal for most of my transactions, and there are no hidden fees that I came across. It was a flat 2 or 3 percent across the board. Ebay on the other hand always had extra fees, although they werent really hidden, they did add up fast.

Paypal has a retainage fee ( im not 100% sure if that is what they call it but that is what it is) that they hold back so you never get all your money. as far as ebay buy/selling it is probly ok because you only see total available with in your account. and the best they can do is 3% +, ( my aunt sold over 50k in product last year and that is what she pays ) now if you have them transfer the money directly into you bank account so you can use that money in the real world they charge you for that transfer and your bank may also charge you for receiving the transaction. now if you use there little debit card how much are you being charged to get to your money or pay for something any where between $2 - $5 for each time you run it. it may seem like a good thing and it might be if your doing intranet sales because your just moving money from onr to another with in the same provider and they still make money on that, but we are not doing inyranet sales and this is what paypal was set up to do. not to be a major credit card processing provider. I would have to get the rates and fees email they sent me when I looked into them. To give out any more info. These are just the main points i remember off hand. If I'm wrong on this please correct me. I will dig up the paperwork paypal sent to me and I will post the rates they quoted me.

Thanks Tim

PS. I only listed this to try and help save others money and advance the chance of bringing on new customers.

We do appreciate your view points!

I bet a lot of readers are trying to figure out which one to do with.

It seems many lco's go with paypal when they are starting off maybe because it is easier to set up but it does seem that the process to get a merchant account has gotten easier as well.

Good info!

So it seems like there is a higher % fee
higher per transaction fee
and a monthly fee.
