R&R events around the country really helped a lot of people and gained media attention for the lawn care operators. Have you thought about projects you could do around your area to gain media attention?

Cemetery Beatification Event is Anything But 'R&R' - To many, R&R means rest and relaxation. But to the hundreds of volunteers from landscape, lawn care and tree care companies who banded together on July 16 to beatify the grounds at Arlington National and Historic Congressional Cemeteries, R&R means Renewal & Remembrance.

Renewal & Remembrance, an annual event coordinated by the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), joins hundreds of industry members from across the nation to spend the day volunteering their time and expertise on lawn care, landscaping, tree care and irrigation projects.

How did you find out about it? What did they want you to do and what was your view on the program?

When I was going to, it was with the PLCAA. Now I think PLANET handles most of it. They ask for either donations or your time there. Sometimes both.

Why did you ultimately decide to not take part? Was there something you didn't like about it?

That's something I may be interested in doing. The time vs donations appeals to me.

I guess ultimately this is something that an lco could do on their own too. I wonder if that way, you could gain more media attention on your own business?
