Have you ever thought of doing this or seeing this done anywhere.
What if your company hosted or sponsored a township best holiday decoration contest. Possibly each season. Maybe you could give gifts from your company or others and use this promotion as a spring board to get more people in the town to know about you?
Do you think this would be interesting or not?
I am thinking I could see the newspapers pick up the story and you could put the contestants pictures on your website.
The City of Burnsville recognizes neighbors and neighborhoods who decorate in style for the holidays. Nominations for the Seventh Annual Burnsville Holiday Lighting Contest are being accepted until December 4; judging will take place December 11-15.
There are three entry categories:
1. single-family residences
2. neighborhoods (20 single family homes or less) or
3. townhomes, apartments or condominiums
City Council will rate nominees on the following criteria:
1. Property must be located within Burnsville City limits,
2. Displays must be visible from the street
3. Creativity in the presentation.
The top three entries in each category will receive gift certificates with cash values of $150, $100, and $50 and also formal recognition from the Burnsville City Council.
The City Council holds a wintertime Holiday Lighting Contest and summertime Garden and Landscape Contest to draw attention and bring recognition to those residents who help to build stronger neighborhoods. The Council also added a "WOW" category award that is based on the volume of lights and elements in the lighting display.
