Default Spider Mites?

Spider Mites? These plants have large parts covered with these webs. Even the branches are covered. I intend to spray them with Bayer 3 in 1 insecticide for shrubs. Advice? Will the infested parts of these plants survive?

Lawn care business tipsLawn Care Business Book
As far as I know with spider mites, they will devour a plant and move on to the next one and the next one so you should look around the immediate area and see if there is any further sign of them.

Will the plant recover? Who knows. Only time will tell. But regardless the plant should be treated or it's going to be bad for all the plants in the surrounding area.

Keep us posted on how all this goes.

I sprayed all the plants in the yard, shrubs like in the photos and pine tree, with the Bayer 3 in 1 hose end sprayer. I saw no insects on the plants and after spraying they looked healthy. Must not be mites since they would have damaged it. I'll check on the plants soon.

I'd say try to get some up close pictures next chance you get so we can see what is going on.

Keep us posted.

In this picture you can see spider mites even without being really zoomed in. Although the closer the better to try and figure out what is going on.

Thanks everyone. Too late for photos of the webs and bugs. I sprayed them and most of the webs are gone. I saw no bugs before spraying.

I looked at the plants again today and the areas that were heavily infested aren't as healthy as I thought. A few crumble if squeezed and others are a little dry and a slightly different color. Areas not infested are healthy.

Maybe the damaged areas could be cut out to remove all the dead spots and allow for growth?

The ones with the most webs needed to be sprayed again in some areas. The plants are healthy now in various yards that had them. There are a few areas that will need to grow back but most of the greenery recovered.

The mites were only on evergreens other than pines. That is, trees with needles didn't have them. Italian Cypress and such did.

Some customers repeatedly sprayed the plants with water and defeated the mites so insecticide might not be needed.

Thank you for the update! Did you consider making some marketing material that targeted the surrounding area which could be effected by the spider mites? Maybe more in the area could use your help and you could use it to get your foot in the door to offer mowing services?
