Not even commenting on your posted time but the exmark claim. There actually right about my walk behind though. Either there lying about top speeds or the mowers are losing efficiency at higher speeds.

your right about bogging but that only comes to play in high grass. The pumps dictate speed otherwise.

I run a 60 29 kaw, 52 27 koh and a 52 22 koh.

I wouldnt compare it to a yard. I'm comparing to the 24 acre campground I cut, thats pretty much wide open besides the dirt roads. We were lucky to get out of there in 5 hours.

The campground owned a 48" lazer and a 60" cub that was broken at the time. They were paying for the simple reason it took them days to cut and trim the place. If they could cut that place in a reasonable time they wouldnt pay me $2700 a cut.

So I walked the property and also took some pictures. I calculated my square footage wrong and came up with 38 acres. I was confused then because there is no way that could be it. I was using the wrong number for acreage when dividing. So here is what I came up with, part of the house, front was 700 feet across and from the front to the back of house was 790 feet. Then another area was 30 feet and 866 feet that he wants mowed. Also, part of property around the building was 160 by 160 feet. So, the grand total was 604,580 square feet which equal 13.87 acres. Does this sound right to you guys?

Sounds, good to me if you can get ahold an old Garmin e Trex GPS is it will be in a light blue see thru case it should cost around 100 dollars new it came with a property estimator it's a pretty valuable tool the new ones no longer have it. knowing your square footage is a good thing if you get this property take detailed notes of how long it takes you what the conditions were like and this property will be a good learning curve so next time you're in good shape don't be afraid of it I gave you a property quote of about 300 to 350. if you have the Garmin you could drive the property on 1 of your 0 turns and record the data.

Tell him $400.00 for the first mow and IF some "internal number statistics run well the price can be lowered to retain you as a customer without shortchanging quality for you or profit for me"

When did being honest become a bad idea?

... but maybe that's a bad idea. Nobody where I live has 13 arces, not even the ultra rich, haha.

So I just emailed the bid to the guy. Small yard I put a bid at $45 and the 13.8 acre lot at $425.I factored in some taxes with this amount as well. I got that figure by seeing how long it would take me and multiplying that by my hourly rate. If you did the math, its still right at $30 an acre without trimming so I believe its still a good deal. I hope so anyways. Im anxious and excited about it, so Im crossing my fingers now and hoping I get an email back saying both of my bids were accepted. Ill be a happy camber then.

At any point if you don't hear from him within the next couple of days, will you follow up to see if he had any further questions on your bid?

Also, did you consider presenting him the bid in person? Might that help sell it better?

Yes, I will consider calling him and following up on the bid.

I did not because he gave me his email address and also his fax number. Maybe I should next time though. Im sure it will help sell it better. Im hoping my sweet charm when I met him will do that.

30 an acre?

If that's the going rate where you are stay away from where I'm at. You will bust all our nuts if you come down here with that :/
