Default Trade Shows !!!

We just went through our first ever trade show, this past weekend. I have to admit, I was shocked at the interest we got.

There was lots of exposure, and we got to see many existing clients. My target was to showcase our new services. With 2 feet of snow on the ground, it is rather difficult to give pricing, but there was plenty of interest.

I would highly recommend that people look at doing this in their area.

I am curious what kind of results anyone else has had with doing this?

Lawn care business tips
My experience was similar to you, but it did not translate into customers. What did you do at the trade show that you think made the difference for you?

Also what kind of trade show was it? There are many you could potentially take part in, but I'd figure only a few that would really hit your target audience.

Due to the size of the city here, it wasn't any specific kind, had everything from home stuff to ATV's and everything in between. I'm certain that if it was a home and garden one or a home renovation one I would certainly go in it.

I remember years ago they used to have a big Home and Garden show in Worcester, MA. The guy I worked for always had a display there and entered contests a lot for "show" medals.

After the shows were done, we'd always get jobs doing installs or complete overhauls of properties. I was talking with him one day about it, he did VERY well. He was saying its a big part in his business. I know we never gained any mowing customers this way, but those big side projects kept him doing high $$ and getting some pretty bad @$$ equipment.

I think it would be worth it for anyone doing that side of work!

Did they stop having these shows? If so was there any reason why?

Were you able to get any information from potential customers that you could visit to later give an estimate to?

Maybe even have a raffle for those that sign up, like 1 month of free lawn care?

We had a tremendous amount of interest in our services. With some of our services, we are the only company in town that offers them and my goal was to promote what we do. These services range from siding washing to curbing. Those services are usually one time services that a client would use every couple of years, but it also gets us in their yard and we are really good about upselling many of our other services.

Overall, I was extremely pleased with our profile and the interest.

Missed answering your question in last post. Yes, while i didn't do a raffle or anything, we did get some clients names, address and phone numbers for estimates.
