Same name in different states

Hey everyone hope you are having a wonderful day! As some of you may know I am getting my business up and rolling. I still need to register a name. I had one in mind but after talking to people it sounded like it wouldn't work. The search began again and I must say finding a name has been more difficult than I thought. All the great ones are taken. Well after some intensive brainstorming with my friends and family I have come up with a name called, Alpine Ridge Lawn Care LLC. I think this name can be very well suited since I live in Colorado. My only concern is a company in Spokane Washington has the name Alpine Ridge Landscape Construction, LLC. Since I live in Colorado does that affect me in any chance on stealing their name? Or do I have to think of a whole new name?

As far as I understand, you can register that name in your state as long as no one else has it. Even if someone has it registered it in another state.

This always has a chance to get messy, when someone has the same or similar name somewhere else.

Is the domain name available? If it is, great. If not, then that would be a problem for you.

One other thing is like Steve stated, make sure you check to see if there is a website under that name. Even if you dont want a website just yet, you still should register it for future use. They are cheap to register at register.com.
