Default my first flyer for 2013

this is gonna be my first full season, advertising budget is gonna be a little tight unfortunatley.. so, trying to keep it basic, gonna be printing them off on my own this time. How is the layout? i may have to re-word some things and do more proof reading. I am Gonna put the same coupons i go with on the flyer, on my website.

these are gonna be printed 2 per page on letter size card stock, so i can get 2 flyers per page. no back, just this on front. gonna hole punch corner and run a rubberband through to attach to door...

Lawn care business tips
My two cents
your website SHARPLAWNSTURF.COM may read easy like SharpLawnsTurf.com

G'day

This is a good looking flyer (especially if you did it yourself!). It is also consistent with your website, which is a big thumbs up for building your brand.

There is quite a lot of information on the flyer. It's good info, but we humans have a short attention span. Maybe try and think about the ONE thing you want the people receiving the flyer to do, and focus in on that.

For example, if you want them to sign up for the 2013 season now, I would make that the focus of your flyer and not distract them with too much other info. e.g. Call us today to secure your spot ...blah blah... limited spaces available.

And don't forget to highlight what's in it for them i.e. the bit about a great looking lawn.

Have you found the two offers you are using on the flyer and your website have been good tactics at gaining new customers (or helping the existing ones stick around)?

Cheers
Susie

its to early to say how the coupons are working, have had a few online estimate requests towards end of season that got 10 dollars off first app for the online coupon.. but haven't really gotten many flyers out last season.

the reason i want to keep the coupons the same on the website as they are on the flyer is so that i don't get people who try to combine them. like a 25 dollar first app, then they go online and see 10 dollars off for first app with online estimate request.. i don't want to much fine print on my coupons.. lol. i think i have some pretty good offers so i shouldn't need much more than that.

i think you have some good advice there.. so i decided i am focusing the flyer more on the lawn applications this first round of flyers, because thats what service i'm most likely to sell in january. With the list of services on my flyer and the mowing coupon plus the info on the website i think they will get the idea that i also do mowing. when i took out those extra words i was able to increase the font size, so its easier to read, and fairly short and to the point i think. i printed a test one off on white card stock, looks pretty good. i considered trying to consolidate it into 1/4 of a letter size piece of paper, but i want it easy to read.. so i think the 1/2 letter size will be good.

i attached a little update. do i have enough info for the first paragragh? mabee i could work on the wording a bit.. but this is something along the lines of what i will do.

Something else to consider that we have seen before on here. Instead of having the 7th mow for 50% off, you could promote a free mow and make it in the last month of the season to ensure the customer pays for the majority of the mows.

A free mowing may catch more readers than 50% the 7th mow.

But experiment and see what works best for you.

Cool. Increasing the size of the font has made it more inviting to read, and I think the wording is good - nice and simple and clear.

Good luck with it!

yeah, i'm up in the air with that one.. my new idea is one free mowing when they sign up for my lawn care program and mowing together.

just not to sure how much i really want to work for free.

When will you start to distribute them and how many are you planning on getting out there?

The door hanger looks good! Have you thought about maybe just having a bunch printed? I bet it would be cheaper that way.
