Very nice!

What got you to decide to scale up to such a truck?

This past year I ended up turning down people who wanted mulch delivered and dropped in the driveway,I could not do it efficiently with out charging to much since I had to shovel it off by hand .Now can dump 5 yards with just a small surcharge to cover gas and driving time .

Surpised me that the truck is titled at 12k lbs and the DMV lady said it came from the factory at 12k .not sure if this is true or not will need to research it more but sure has one hell of a stack of springs under it

the cost of fuel is about 10% more $3.50 gas $3.80 diesel and diesel gets better mpg

for me it saves money
My old gas truck got towing around town 8mpg, My new truck gets 12mpg
GAS 10,000 miles per year / 8 = 1250 gallons * $3.50 = $4375
DIESEL 10,000 / 12 = 833 * $3.80 = $3166
So if the diesel costs more to fix I have $1209 to work with

Don't get me wrong if the right gas truck came a long I would buy it!!
Gotta agree with you on that. My first dump was a 460 gasser. I got about 6mpg with some wind going downhill. I only paid 2k but put in about $1500 and then sold it for $1600. That truck was a money pit, had horrible gas, and was rusting so bad that I didnt feel safe with a load.

I been trying to get the old 7.3 nonturbo in a dump ever since. I can easily get 16-18mpg fully loaded. Its just everyone I look at has the oil pan problem. I dont have a week to change a damn oil pan.

I LOVE the 7.3 non, I tried like hell to get one but end up with a 99 ram 5.9L

I think the non turbo can just be lifted up and pull out the pan

Now with this truck, that you are able to perform the job faster, can you see other parts of your business that will expand now because of it? For instance, if you are going to be delivering more mulch, will you buy more in bulk and keep it at your location? Will you also promote your mulch delivery services to others landscapers in your area that might be able to use the service?

had not giving it much though but it is a good idea there are a lot of pick ups pulling little trailers doing lawn work around here so if they have more then 2 yards of so to deliver it would save them money to hire me to deliver it .

bought snow plow mount for it today so gonna have 2 plow trucks for this winter
