Default Natural Fence Job

50' turfed, 7 ton topsoil, 24 Degroot Arborvitea's , 2 yards mulch, total material $1480 billed for $3120 1 1/2 days . 6 month guarantee excluding deer damage.









Hope this helps with anyone who comes across a job and needs to bid. Trees were $85.00 ea, told customer they were $90.00 with a 20% discount which took them down to $73.00

Looks good. Im not a fan of the column type arborvitaes. I like the cone or pyramid shape myself. Nice job though, nice clean edge. I love doing projects like that.

Thanks guys. And Wat..Ya me too, good for the portfolio although Ill drop $400 on a new handtool but never do I take the time to go pick up a good camera! I rely on my iphone and looking back I want to kick myself. Back to the subject...I think I want to quit mowing completely and stick with these kind of jobs.,idk one day at a time I suppose.

I know you said a day and a half but how many man hours was that total?

Also, would you do it differently if you could do it again?

I think we were right around 18 hrs. If I could go back and do it again I'd charge a little more for dealing with the very hard / rocky dirt we delt with during turfing and planting. Turns out that the area was a swamp land at one time and the guy used bricks rocks boulders contrete for fill!

Did you just [basically] double materials to cover labor?

Also as far as 24 trees at $73 a piece, that is $1,752 alone

He was a family friend it would have been more like $3800 . I get the trees for $60 tell the customer I can get them for $90 and my 20 percent discount will get them to you for $73ish, and I maintain my nursery ladies lawn so she owed me ...we barter often !
