New truck prices are real high now. You pay extra for foreign too.

Yeah I didnt think it would make a good plow truck. It has a big body and engine but I wasnt really sure about the frame, transmission, and suspension. The American trucks are designed for this and even some of them have trouble.

i seen his sarcasm i just thought i would ask because the truck he bought and a titan should not even come up in the conversation of snow plowing.

sure there are co's that will make a plow for any vehicle but a company like say, fisher would not and they do now offer what would be called the homestead series but it is so scaled back from a real plow it is almost pointless.

good for a estate or homeowner to do his own yard but not quite capable of commercial plowing for the long haul.

however i do think it is a pretty slick truck allthough i would buy something like that for pleasure more so then work.

and OMG 38g's, for the money and looking at it from a money making work truck perspective with the abillity to use as a personal ride i would have went the way of a more total package.

but all in all it is still a very nice truck and i wish him nothing but the best of luck with it.

I know the price was high but the price I drove it home for is low. in the picture you see some good looks but not all the little options that add the $$ up. Just the 4 doors added quite a bit to the price but since I have a wife and 3 kids the 4 door was not even a question. I got tired of taking 2 cars to Lowes to get a tree for my yard, now we can all go together. This truck I would say was purchased 80% for pleasure and 20% for work however now I do NOT have a dedicated work truck so this is all I have to drive. The dealer showed me the paperwork and because I purchased my wife a $21,000 SUV last week as well, the profit on this truck for them was only $300 after everything, can't complain at all.

BTW I agree the regular Titan is nice but would not to good for work but you guys might be forgetting there IS an HD package available for the Titan that really toughens it up, however Just a factory stripped down Titan will never measure up to say a factory stripped down Dodge like I had. You can get one that WILL do the job but you might pay $20K more for it.

One thing I forgot, this midsize truck is only midsize by name, the towing capacity is only 500lbs less than my Dodge was, The receiver is rated at 7,500lbs, my full size Dodge was 8K lbs, The payload as far as cubic feet goes is a lot less though, it can haul a lot of weight but the bed is only like 4 X 4.5' because of the 4 door cab. I rarely ever had anything in my Dodge bed though because my back has issues and I have a hard time lifting things up and down from it so the small bed does not bother me at all. The downside also is that no rental place here will hook up something like a bobcat or even a car hauler to this truck.

They really beefed up the frontiers then. I had a old 93 and it had lower tow rating then a S10. At that time I wasnt doing any towing, just the occasional trip to the transfer station. Even though the whole truck rusted apart I never had a issue with it. I sold it with 230,000 miles with just basic maintenance. Thats a far cry from some of the ford and chevys I had.

So when I was looking for a truck that could do it all and seeing a Titan. I asked the salesman he acted like it would have no problem plowing but as DPLD said none of the big manufactures made a plow for it. I bought a chevy 2500hd instead. Now it doesnt get the fuel I would get with a nissan or toyota but it doesnt have a problem towing 10,000 lbs either.

I do have a friend with a tundra that he uses for commercial plowing and he loves it. I think he bought it 08 and is still using it. Its just way to pricey and nice of a truck for me to throw a sander in.

you have to take into consideration that the tow ratings on all trucks these days are over inflated and are not based on reality.

the tow vehicles abillity is not only based on horsepower of the tow vehicle but weight of the vehicle is a major factor as well as brakes.

there is no way even if the frontier is pushing the same horsepower as the full size dodge it will not handle the load the same as the dodge.
take a 6,000lb trailer load on a crazy twisty road with the frontier and i am sure it will pull it fine but it will get pushed all over the road and the brakes will wear ten times quicker and the tranny will overheat.

i can put a hitch on my hyundai accent beater and move a 6,000 lb trailer if i wanted to but come time to hit a turn doing 30mph it will get rag dolled as well as it will eventually fold like a cheap tent if it did not kill me first.

as i said it looks like a nice truck and i am sure you will use it in a manner that is safe and within it's abillity and only you know what is best for you.
i know you said you will be useing it more for personal then work and i am sure you are not gonna pull a 8,000lb enclosed trailer full of riders with it.

so good luck and i hope you enjoy it because it is nice driving a new ride and nissan is a pretty reliable vehicle regardless of which one you buy because they have a proven track record of producing quality vehicles and based on that you did good.
