would a 2006 Ford f 150, 2x2, long bed be fine to haul a 16' trailer and mowers??

you should be fine but make sure what your hitch can handle. you dont want to over load the weight. also youll want to add an additional tanny cooler to it other then the radiator. that way when pulling it will help cool things down as well.

tranny cooler is important....The main problem with 1/2 tons is the transmissions are weaker. The shocks can always be beefed up. I would try to find a 3/4 ton. You can never have to much truck.

thanks guys. im looking at two. one is v6 with no towning package, the other a v8 with towing package.

the v8 will work better. My first truck was a v6 and being overworked. It had worst gas mileage then my v8s.

I have an 2007 F-150 V8 2x2 and it works just fine for hauling two mowers and all the other crap on a 16' trailer. Just use your best judgement and get what works for you. Not everyone has the same needs.

I started out with a 1/2 ton but now have a 3/4 2006 king ranch. I found that the 1/2 just did not do the job for me when I needed to add mulch, fertilizers, etc. Also went with the 4x4 because of some of the hills and areas I have to work.
