Honda HRC vs HRX

My dad and I spent a few good hours working on his 22" Murray push mower on Sunday. I am excited b/c extending this mower's life will give me time to save up for a push mower I really want to invest in. The commercial Honda(HRC217 or 218whatever) has got me googly eyed and I can't wait to have enough cash to walk out of the store with one. NEW! Can anyone talk me out of buying the HRC line push mower from Honda? Also can someone explain the differences in the HRC(commercial) and the HRX(residential) lines? The specs on the HRXs do not seem at all different from the HRCs.

I also have the commercial honda mower 2011 but self propelled. Most of the difference is in the materials used to make the deck and wheels and other parts that get beat up in commercial use. The top of the line commercial hand mower comes in at 122 pounds while the top of the line residential machine is 94 pounds. Steel everything on the commercial mower. commercial residential - stronger metal deck - softer metal deck - lasts longer/built to last/sturdy

Get into the habit of saving your money and only spending it when you HAVE to. Use the mower you have now and expand as you need to.

Also can someone explain the differences in the HRC(commercial) and the HRX(residential) lines?

I don't know about these two models but sometimes you will see a difference in the consumer model deck is stamped steel and the commercial is aluminum. Plus differences in the engine to last longer. Larger wheels on the back are helpful too.

Thanks GroundsCrew & Steve. The Murray i'm using doesn't have a bagger or the option to add bag. The wheels are going every which way except straight. I've banged out and straightened the housing brackets but this mower has just about run its course. I fully intend on using Murray until I have cash to pay for honda and not use credit.
Also it's not technically mine, my pops lets me use it for the time being. What a nice guy eh? very grateful.
Ah yes I would like the high wheel on back but I have not seen any hondas with them.
Has anyone ever changed out their small wheels for bigger ones on push mower? Is it conceivable?

I am sure you could do it if you wanted to. You'd have to change the mounting to allow for larger wheels while keeping the deck level.

I went over this with the local Honda dealer. The owner tells me one will last you 20 yrs at a commercial type use and the residential model will last you 5 yrs as a commercial use. Residencial mowers are not build for the long abusive hours of a commercial yard business. However if your like me and cycle mowers around and use it for special yards it will last you along *** time. I take very good care of my equipment. He said residential users average 25 hrs a year and thats what manufactures rate equipment by. Im a small business and probly put 15-20 hours a week on just lawns. We do alot more than just lawns though. If i had just a lawn only business I would buy only the HRC but if you do other stuff and the mower doesnt get the **** run out of it the HRX is a sweet mower that blows away any other mower that I have researched.
