Quickly estimating a lot size

What methods do you guys use to quickly estimate a lot size? Same goes for area that would need trimming, edging, etc.

i use a measuring tape that has a wheel on it

I also use a measuring wheel that has a counter that you reset after evwry measurement.

I think the surveyors wheel would be really helpful to you.



You can measure length and width of a property to find the area as well as measure linear feet of sections you need to trim, or edge.

Once you have done it awhile, you can just walk the grounds and know how long it will take. You will also become better at estimating retention ponds, etc... things a tape can't help with all that much.
