Lawn care business tips
I personally go SCAG all the way. A little more money but it’s worth it, they are work horses. When it comes to equipment you know it’s worth it to spend a little more to have heavy duty commercial grade mowers with power to spare. I never used Gravely so I can’t speak from experience just personal preference.
Just curious what's the price difference?

Default Do Not Buy A Gravely

I used the exact mower you are talking about purchasing, just the ride while mowing is not even close to a scag.(i own all scag myself) i wouldnt recommend the gravely as a commericial grade mower considering there are no grease fittings, how can you have a piece of equipment that moves the way it does and not have any grease fittings. it just wont last as long as the scag bottom line. it just doesnt make sense to me if your going to finance a large amount to buy the gravely, whats another couple thousand to have the best of the best and you will actually have something that is still running and operating correctly when the payments are done. it will only be a difference of 30-40 bucks a month, if you cant afford that difference you prolly shouldnt be making the purchase to begin with. i have 1,400 hours on my wildcat and it mows better than any new toro, exmark, ferris i see out there. thats why i stand firm behind scags and their products. they are the only company that official builds there deck based around the striping kit that is built in.

The Scag has the better transmission and the Gravely has the better engine. Personally I say the weakest link of the two is the transmission so the scag will last longer and be worth the extra money. Have you looked at any other mowers to compare them as well? Take a look at some of the other top lines and see what they offer you.

well with the ones your looking at I would say Bobcat, Hustler, and Snapper pro for quality lines that are lower on the budget and have a good cut.
