For those of you cleaning gutters what has been has worked out best for cleaning them out and keeping your hands warm?

Leafblower, pressure washer, or just scooping them out and using a garden hose?

I just use the ol' scoop and rinse...I have used a leaf blower but make a #### of a mess. I once had to clean off an entire side of a house...got crap and leaves all over the siding and windows, arg.

I'd love to make a vacuum attachment with a long pvc pipe to suck out leaves. That would be awesome. Connect it to a shop vac.

I wonder what would be more time consuming? Using a bucket and scooping the debris out or the robot and cleaning it up off the ground out of beds or whatever. I guess a tarp would help.
The robot would keep your hands warm though. It looked like all those demos were on dry gutters. Most the ones i do are soaking wet.

Steve 12-17-2007 11:05 AM

I am thinking they are water proof but I couldnt say for sure. If these things worked I think they would be a time saver.

Do you have any idea how much they cost?

ritchiem 12-17-2007 11:12 AM

I thought I read they were only $100 bucks...could be wrong...but yeah what about the soaking wet leaves...I really don't see how it could work...too light.

Yea that gutter vac might work.

Rob are you going to be experimenting with any of these products? I'd love to hear some of your results.

FourSeasons 12-17-2007 11:42 AM

No, it seems like none of these gadgets or whatever never work in real situations. I'll stick with cleaning them out by hand and flushing them out.
Just wanted to see if anyone had anyideas or tips. I did read about using a half gallon milk jug to scoop.
