Hiring is Quacking me up to be
Employee hiring is all so stressful.
I'm looking at hiring my first employee. I put an ad on Kijiji and have had a great response. Some you have to laugh at they couldn't spell their names right :)
I have never interviewed anyone before dose anyone have any advice on doing this ????

If you work out of your home, pick a donut shop or something to do the interview. You never really know who your interviewing. I would give them an application to fill out, have them bring copies of heir information that you'll need, license sos sec card etc..

I get girls and all kind of non english speaking people.

I like to take there names and go on facebook to see what kind of people they are. You should see them with their keg stands and bong pictures.

After you get a copy of their drivers license, but BEFORE the fill out an application, tell them outright that you WILL be doing a background check on all prospective employees (whether you do or not is something they dont need to know). You will be amazed at what people will open up about.

Background check, drug test, e verify, and must speak English (it's a safety thing, that makes it legal). must have Xerox copies of drivers license, social security card.

You would be surprised how many people get up and walk away from an interview. They are not people you want anyhow.

Also make it a requirement to bring and show you their PPE. Work boots, long pants, eye protection, hearing protection. Those that do are serious about working.

After that tell them that is a performance part of the interview, they have to run the mower, weed eat, and edge, then blow. (this can be any open field or you own house.)
