My equipment

Heres my equipment, I have a 5x10 trailer which I picked up for $1080 tax, tagged and delivered to me, couldn't have asked for a better deal. And theres my truck that makes it all possible.

I ordered a side rack for my trailer that will hold my trimmers, blower, cooler and spool of line. I also ordered door magnets for my truck.

SECTLANDSCAPING 07-15-2012 03:48 PM

I have the same push mower and the aluminum commercial version. I love them!

I started with a S10 a few years back but sold it at the end of the season. Its just not meant for work. I beat it up pretty quick and it couldnt hold enough debris or tow for ****. I didnt want to put a plow on it either. I seen it done before but its not meant for that.

What model s10 did you have? Mine is the v6 with 4WD, it tows my trailer without you even knowing its there. I do plan on upgrading my truck if my business goes well, something with a long bed and a little more power.

xandrew245x 07-15-2012 03:59 PM

Oh, and the s10 is my personal truck, I got it for free from my parents who beat the piss out of it at their business, so its already in rough shape, so I don't mind using it. ;P

Had the v6 4.3 and 4wd. I had a extended cab so I had a little bit bigger bed then you but not by much. Part of the reason it tows easy is your mower only ways 600-700 lbs and your trailer is light too. My mower is 1300 lbs and the trailer is around 900 lbs. The real weak point with that truck is the suspension the tires almost touched with a half ton in it.

xandrew245x 07-15-2012 04:12 PM

Yeah, I made sure I kept my weight low, If I ever upgrade my mower, i'm probably going to need a new truck and possibly a new trailer. Out of curiosity what truck do you have now?

Hedgemaster 07-15-2012 04:15 PM

Nice! Just imagine how many illegals you could cram in the back of that quad cab!

:D

Thanks for sharing. I always like to see other people's trailers with equipment to see how things fit. It gives me a better idea of what to look for next time around.

Haha, that cracked me up. I usually don't take the wheelbarrow with me, but its full of scraps from around the house that I was cleaning up and i'm taking it to my parents business tomorrow to dump it on the giant compost pile we have going on there.

My trailer is a little unorganized now, but once I get my rack it will be so much better. Only problem is I have to pick the guard up to get it on my trailer, but not that big of a deal.

Hedgemaster 07-15-2012 04:36 PM

I have to have the deck on my walk behind set at 3" or higher, or it catches at the top of the ramp when I load it.

Not a big deal because I generally leave it at 3" anyway, and I have a Ferris, so adjusting it takes seconds if I need to rather than the "spacer" system used on most walk behinds.

My trailer is the same brand in a 5x8 (and I have sides on it). I'd like to upgrade to a 12'.

xandrew245x 07-15-2012 04:40 PM

I was going to buy a 5x8 but the guy was like hey we have a 5x10 on sale for only $50 for, so I jumped on that pretty quick.

I have to have my mower deck up or I catch the trailer as well too. Do I need to keep the rubber chute on my mower, or could I take it off? I know at my parents business, we took them off of all our mowers that we use to mow there.
