Wearing shorts pros and cons
I decided to wear shorts again, because I haven't done so in years.
Wearing shorts has become addictive because of the comfort they provide, but god damn my legs are cut up from trimming, and my socks/shoes get covered in grass! LOLOLOLOL!
Every time I trim a lawn parallel to sidewalks or roads, I get pebbles that launch into my skin.

I love how trimmers are designed to launch grass onto your left leg, it's so funny lol.

I can't wear long pants. The only time I do is if I know I'm working with brush, or doing heavy/nasty trimming.
I bought a pair of "athletic" pants that are lightweight and breathable that I keep in the truck so I can slip them on over my shorts if I happen upon something that is going to be more than the typical trim.
The drawback is that I get a small touch of poison ivy near my ankles from time to time from trimmer splatter.
My socks? Meh. They are my "work socks" now. They are a permanent shade of dull-white with grass stains. I work to always throw debris away, so getting hit on the legs is minimized, but it still happens.
Oh, and stings on the legs from yellow jackets are another drawback. Owww.

With temp in the 110 to 120 range ( in the sun) and humidity in th 90 per cent range I wear shorts all the time. Well a few days in the winter I will put on long pants.
I have a set of 'chaps' that my wife made for me, that cover the front of my legs when I am weedeating heavy stuff, most of the time no problems. I also have a pair of socks that I cut the toe out of and pull then higher on ny legs.
Hope some of these ideas help

I used to wear shorts and would just put up with the pain and blood. For a while I let my guys wear shorts too, but then I noticed the weed wacking wasn't quite up to par. All they seemed to do was beat up the weeds. So now we all wear pants.

You know, the comfiest I've ever been at work was when I wore pajama pants.
Those are SO damn comfortable. It's like going to work in the nude.

I always wear shorts. Too hot. Pants arent even an option.
i only wear long pants from november to april and once the weather breaks and i wear shorts i don't touch pants until it gets cold.
it makes doing laundry easier and i can wash more cloths per load as well as shorts are cheaper then pants and i would rather have a million holes in my legs then deal with the heat.
it is at the point now that even though my legs get badly cut up especially from trimming that the skin on my legs is tougher then the leather on the boots i wear and i don't even feel the pain anymore.

I weae shorts if its supposed to be over 100 degrees. Here in NH that doesnt happen offen though. I usually wear carhartt double front work pants and a pair of my chippewas every day.

Shorts sure do improve the scenery. Some of the places I have worked have been dinged by OSHA for shorts as a safety issue. Anyone had a problem? How did you fair with them?
