An added bonus to your lawn care business
 
As an entreprenuer, I am always looking for a way to add to our services. We have portable self storage and landscaping maintenence service available through our company.

The other day I was speaking with one of my customers and he told me he was adding a satellite dish. So that got me thinking.

I started to look around and found that Dish Network actually uses affiliates to sell there services. You can sign up to be a reseller of Dish Network. Once you sign up, they will give you all the materials you need to sell the dish network system online or offline. You can print brochures they supply, door hangers etc... They supply you with a website that you can actually link to from your lawncare website. For every person that orders through you, you get $120. That's for basically doing nothing. Dish Network actually comes out and does the installs and supplies the equipment. So this becomes very advantageous for us since we are in a down season for lawncare. Christmas is a great time to sell these systems.

My thoughts are to hand out brochures to my lawn care customers. Even though they may not purchase, they may know someone who will. So this is just an added bonus to what I am doing now.

You know, that is a very interesting idea. I wonder, what would it take to offer installation services? Do you think this is something that the average lawn care business owner could provide? Could they charge for this or maybe the satellite company could pay them to install the dishes?

Does a customer normally pay for the installation as an extra or is that included in their service contract?

Steve, In order to do installs you need to be set up as a subcontractor for them or work for them directly. I'm not sure what the requirements are for also doing the installs. But I am sure you would probably have to train.

I was thinking more in the lines of just offering your clients the service. You print out a form from the website after you sign up and you just hand those forms out. You customer can go online or call to order, they give them the reference number when they order and you get paid $120.00. If you got one customer to order a day, that would give you an extra 600 per week.

There are no other charges and the customer gets a free intall up to four rooms. It really a good set up since you already have customers you work with.

Also, if you sign up as an affiliate, dish network gives you a free website which you can email to potential customers as well. They will rotate your website with other affiliates sites when people do a search on Google for dish network. After about 3 to 4 months, you should be making a couple thousand dollars a month and you haven't done a thing. So you can sell these while you are out speaking to potential or current lawn care customers or sell them online through your webite.
