  • Honda 4 stroke Hedge Trimmer

    Hi Guys
I have just taken delivery of the 4 stroke Honda HHH25d Hedge Trimmer which promises fewer emissions and less fuel than my previous and very excellent Efco/ Oleo Mac hc275xp machine.

This 4 stroke model appears much larger and weighs in around 1KG more than my previous machine at 6.5kg.

I hope to give it a test run in the next few days and update you with a review.

Heres a link to Hondas site

Oh I am looking forwards to it. It seems many are liking the 4-strokes. They seem to be a lot quieter.

Yes, normally 4 strokes (aka, 4 cycles) are quieter, and slightly more fuel efficient (per hour of operation). However, they are always heavier and have less power. Their power to weight ratio is far worse than any recent model 2 cycle. All of this (less fuel consumption, less power, and more weight) are all simply due to sheer mechanics...

If anyone is interested in the Superior Power Equipment version of the reason for this, let me know and I'll try to explain it when I get a chance. Or, I may optionally direct you to a current article.

Everyone, I apologize for the late response to this.

But here is a link to an article that I hope will explain why 4-cycles have less power for their weight. The videos basically explain 4-cycle vs 2-cycle theory.

          Hope you all enjoy!
