    Hi Guys
    new at biding sod
    the yard is trashed and has river rock every where
    i wiil have to get a skid loaderto remove the old dirt
    and put new top soil in
    i have a gmc with a 8ft bed

    how do i calulate how many yards i can carry in it

    i have attached a drawing of some what what it looks like
    did i figure it right on sq foot part ??

    this a a rental property and the owners want to fix it up
    any i deas would be grate

      Did you check your truck's gross vehicle weight rating?

      How much is the dirt you want to haul per cubic yard? 1,500lbs? more or less?

        its a 3/4 ton truck and its 7200 gvw

          Ya, it depends on your vehicles payload...with a 3/4 ton and an 8 ft bed, you can probably only carry 2 yards at a time, since I think most 8 ft beds are 2 yards in volume.

          It's probably cheaper to rent a bin or hire a dump truck, depending on how much you want to remove. It's usually a lot easier than making tons of runs to the dump on your own.
