  • First commercial job  NEED HELP

Hey yall I just joined up here because im lost on what to bid these jobs at. All the accounts we have now are residential but trying to get into commercial. I got an email from a guy yesterday who has some shopping centers he needs maintained. I went and looked at them and they are decent sizes here's what he wants

1st property: 550ft x 950 with 2 retention ponds and 60 palms and 30 smaller oaks and misc shrubs.
Included in lawn and tree care he wants:
    ~Pressure washing of sidewalks about 650ft x 8ft
    ~Empty garbage cans
    ~irrigation maint
~pick up any garbage we see on sidewalks
    ~mulch beds sprayed

He wants us there 3 times a week to keep up on it

2nd is exactly the same but is 770ft x 550
    wants same services as first

3rd 630 x 610 and has tons of smaller oaks and about 15 palms and lots of shrubs. no retention pond but wants same services as other 2 places

Also he might want a street sweeper but I don't have one how much do they charge?

Also he wants a 700ft x 8ft wall pressure cleaned what's that worth

Also he has 2 retention ponds(100 x 75) he wants "cleaned" which meant we go in the water(nasty) and clean the garbage out.

if yall could help me out here I have NO IDEA what to charge or what the price difference should be between having the parking lot sweep ed and not.

please help he wants an answer tomorrow or Wednesday

I have mucked out ponds before, and trust me it is easy to underestimate how long it takes. As far as the rest of it, try your best to figure how many hours it will take each one, and multiply it by $60 per hour. That should get you pretty close. Sometimes I will walk through my steps I will take on an average day at a job to get a better idea of the time it will take. Good Luck!

All Pro Landscape Services, we just started a few months ago and are kickin but with residential but would perfer commercial. I know how to do it but not sure how to bid it. Never cleaned a retention pond befor but im sure its not a fun job, especially here in FL where we play with gator and snakes and those priders that walk on water . i just wasnt sure what to bid the mowing at or the parking lot cleanding 3 times a week. i hate to be over but dont know for sure and it would suck to under bid myself.

Its better to over bid then under bid. If you over bid, the property owner will most likely tell you, then you can compromise. It wont work to compromise UP if you end up underbidding.

Where you guys located in FL? Cleaning a retention is better to wait till its dryed up bush hog it.
