    I just found out that the manager of the mobile home community I live in fired their snowplowing and mowing contractor. They really had a bad experience with the snowplowing. But since they fired him it leaves the mowing open and i just happen to live here but at the same time there are 4 others that live in here also but I'm not sure if they all know about it. I did hear that she was looking online for a new company and all the ones online cost too much.

    My problem is I don't know how to bid on a multiple lot bid like this. there are upwards of 400-450 lots.
    i do know that they bid on the vacant lots differently than the occupied lots.

    there are about 90+ vacant lots and every week there are also about 25-50 properties that get mowed due to the height limit requirement of the manager. basically if you dont mow by a certain the mowing company mows it and the park charges an amount on your bill.

    i've heard from another lawn care contractor that he bid $8-14 per lot at another park and then the park charges $35-50 for having to have the grass mowed. there is also the bid for the managers office and around the basketball court and pool area that needs to be in this bid.

    does anyone have any experience in multiple lot bidding. The lots are only around at the largest i think maybe .15-.2 acres each and the entire park is a total of 80.44 acres but maybe only half of the properties get mowed but the contractor.

    any advice or help i can get would be greatly appreciated..

    Sorry budda but I cannot help with the bid, However I do know one close to me about like that, the guy has two three man crews there for a day, each week. So there is just an idea how much the bid is. I know that this guy does have some huge common areas, 2 60 inch Dixie Choppers, A 36 inch mmm I forget, one guys on edger, two guys on trimmers and a couple of blowers to keep everybody busy until the end

        well my thing is that i am currently still a small company only have 7 residential clients that i carried over from the failed attempt with my step-dad.

        this would boost my business by more than 500% only that % because of the size of the properties. i would go from 7 properties at around .75 acres- 1 acre each to add 125 properties that are about .15 acres or so.

          It shouldnt be that hard to put the bid together. Look at the lots, charge like it was a single lawn then deduct your travel since its all one place. Then give them a per lot fee for when you have to cut the others. Something like normally it would be $30 but since I'm there and will only take 10 mins $15.

          Look at the common areas and measure them out. Figure how long it will take to cut, trim, blow.

          Add it all up and your good to go.

          Being a small guy it should be easy to price the lots. You might have difficulty pricing the larger area but if you have the right equipment you can cut it.

            The last company that was doing this came in with 2 guys and it would take all day. with a 60" lazer z and a 52" turf tracer, they never used blowers to clean off anything except up by the office.

              well the travel is none cause i live here!!

              time is like 5-7 mins per lot and if you take that times 125 or so you will get about 11 hours give or take an hour or so for fill ups and lunch.

              I talked to one of the companies that did a similar park and was told that it is only $8-15 per lot + the common area.

                  Here's an idea, if you think you can do this job, bid it out as everyone has told you and take a shot at getting the bid and doing the job, if you don't think you can do it, then move on to something else where you can make money and won't be procrastinating on questions like: How much should I charge? Should I do this? Or should I do that? Just make sure you have the right equipment to take on the job, otherwise you'll look like an idiot.
