  • help with 288.000 SF bid

Got a call yesterday to give an estimate on a property that totaled a little over 288,000 SF all flat land and very little trimming.

I came up with $258.60 per cut

does this sound like its in the ball park for you guys

It will be a long term deal his last lawn guy had been with him 15 years but suffered a bad accident last month and is paralyzed and unable to work any longer

    thanks for the help

$215-$260 range for me (weekly), but that is assuming that
              1) its residential
              2) its easy (flat/very little trimming)
              3) may be under priced now (same guy doing for 15 years)

closer to the 215 if I have holes in schedule to fill - closer to the 260 if I don't.
I think your price is reasonable.
It is hard to compare prices because location can make a big difference.

I can say that my two largest residential regular weekly mows are each 4 +/-acres. One is somewhat flat one is all uphill with trimming they are priced at $185 and $245 weekly, and total average is 3hrs and 4.25.

This would put me at about 300-325 for your lot on weekly and about 375 bi-weekly

Here is a Craiglist ad I came across for Bowling Green Kentucky. Thought it may help with determining rates as it list prices from under 3/4 acre to 5 acre. I actually wonder if they know what an acre is.

What will you be mowing it with? How many feet of trimming are you estimating? How long do you feel it will take?
